Maelle Ricker wins Snowboard Cross GOLD

Canada's Maelle Ricker from nearby Squamish won the womens Snowboard Cross Gold medal by a rather large margin in the final at Cypress today. The Silver medal went to French girl Deborah Anthonioz and the bronze to Olivia Nobbs from Switzerland.

Australia's Steph Hickey failed to qualify for the main event after coming unstuck on her second qualifying run crashing quite heavily. Her first run had her placed in 18th with the top 16 advancing. Bad luck for Steph in what looked like less than ideal snow conditions again today
