Monday night was the third coldest temperature recorded in history with Charlottes Pass dropping to -20 degrees. So you can imagine how hard packed and firm conditions were on the Tuesday for the Big Air event up at Thredbo. Charles Beckinsale had constructed a 2 jump line consisting of a 20 foot jump to a 35 foot jump.

A healthy contingent of riders showed up including a crew from Falls Creek and even Mt Buller too. The Viccos were stoked to be able to session some decent jumps given there were none at their home resorts. Despite the firm conditions riders didn't hold back and an entertaining variety of tircks were thrown down. A few came unstuck with some heavy faceplants, shoulder dislocations and brusing being the order of the day.

In the end Jye Kearney won the Mens by the narrowest of margins from Ryan Tiene with Andy Lloyd in third place. Jess Rich took out the womens from Laura Williams and Saph Farrell. Billy Hayman won the groms from Ben Alexis and Elliot Fielder. Alex Fitch won the junior girls from Pride Hasler and Georgia Baff.

Next event is the boardercross on the 3rd of August. Watch for our big air edit up real soon.
