Halfpipe Qualifications Under Sunny Skies at the US Open

This Tuesday, spectators at Stratton Mountain saw the first day of competition of the 6Star Burton US Open 2010. Under sunny skies and in spring like conditions, 34 riders battled for 20 spots in the qualifications that then saw 10 snowboarders proceeding to semis finals that are taking place this Saturday.

At the semis finals, they will have to compete against TTR's top riders on the world ranking list, such as Iouri Podladtchikov (SUI), Stale Sandbech (NOR), Marko Grilc (SLO) and Peetu Piiroinen (FIN), who will be crowned Swatch TTR World Snowboard Champion this weekend thanks to an already unassailable lead.

Also the women will get their chance for Swatch TTR points this week. Up for grabs over the next two weeks are four possible 6Star results that will still decide who will become the female TTR Tour Champion 2009/10.
