Having spent the Northern Hemisphere couch bound recovering from a knee reconstruction, poor Charlie Steinbacher now finds himself back on the couch as a result of a dislocated shoulder over in NZ.

Sam Murphy tells the story...

"This morning we where warming up in the pipe, we had taken about two runs each and Charlie was getting started by doing some back to back 5′s all the way down the pipe. I think it was about last hit where he landed pretty back seat and put his hand down. I thought he’d get straight back up but as I was dropping in Benny A (NSWIS coach) yelled out and i went straight down to check out Charlie.
I went to get Ski Patrol and by the time I went up the chair and came back to the pipe his shoulder was back in and he was getting on the sled to go down to the hut. Charlie’s shoulder was out for about five minutes and went back in without too much complication."

While it may look like Charlie is set to hit the town with his camera bag on, it actually is some sort of strange appartus that helps kep his shoulder locked into the right position.

When his shoulders and knees do work, Charlie is actually quite a stylish and talented rider as can be seen here floating a abckside 180 over the famed Charlottes Pass road gap.
