Outside
Its been a long time coming and well overdue, but finally Ryan Tiene bags his first cover of Snowboarder. The shot was taken by Phil Tifo in the Whistler backcountry filming for the 20 Year Anniversary release for Standard Films. You can read all about it over here.
This issue also comes free with a DVD of the Toyota One Hit Wonder event held at Thredbo and a huge double sided poster of Ryan Tiene and Robbie Walker to help decorate your walls.

Inside
We've got another bumper issue brimming with tales of overseas adventures, local heroes and all you need to know about riding in Australia.

Sean Radich rounds up a posse of riders including Darragh Walsh, Cohen Davies and Jeremy Burns, as they set off across the desert on the ultimate party adventure to shred Las Vegas. Wait, what, you can ride in Vegas? Yep you sure can and we'll give you all the inside info on the quickest way to max out a credit card on a snowboarding trip.

We catch up with one of Australia's leading all-round riders in that of Falls Creek local Kieran McLaughlin. Definitely one to blaze his own trails, Kieran is more at home soul shredding some gnarly European backcountry lines, than grovelling around a California park with his fellow countrymen. We find out his thoughts on everything from sponsorship and the state of the snow industry to media exposure, injuries, travelling, progression and competing. Interesting read from someone who isn't afraid to speak their mind.

We explore Hokkaido, Japan's new urban riding paradise with Mark Amadio, Lance Rees and Lucas McGrath. With avalanche barriers just metres from the ocean, this place is steep, scenic and littered with countless untouched and unridden handrails just lying in wait. You can check out a little preview video of some of the action below.

Behind every good rider is an even better rider who is their source of inspiration. For Ben Fawcett that figure is that of good friend, boss-man and part time coach Charles Beckinsale. We explore their complex relationship and their shared love of the shred and its benefits for one another.

The 2010 Toyota One Hit Wonder will go down in the history books as an event to be remembered, but for Clint Allan it's an event he'd probably rather forget. Two snapped ankles and one shattered collar bone later, a winner was decided by the public, but not without its fair share of controversy. Find out why...

Doing your first Australian season should be the time of your life and a memory you'll treasure forever. We give you a step by step guide as to what you can expect living full time at one of our great resorts for the season. An expert map of the dos and don'ts that you won't find anywhere else to help you get the most out of your shredventure.

No one forgets their first trip to Japan. The culture, the sites and that incredible powder all create memories that stick with you for a lifetime. We round up Charlie Steinbacher and Cohen Davies and drop them in the middle of mainland Japan to see how they cope with the situation. The end result is an often hilarious adventure filled to the brim with Japan's finest pearly white.

We bring you our massive and comprehensive Buyers Guide, previewing all that's new, fresh and innovative in the retail world of snowboards, bindings, boots, goggles, gloves, outerwear, headwear, luggage and accessories. We explain in the simplest of laymens terms the difference in board camber technology and profile some of the new ideas that can help improve your day on the hill.
Plus...
We also share our love for going beyond the boundaries and exploring the backcountry with a pictorial special that will leave you foaming at the mouth to duck some ropes.
Pete Long drops some knowledge on how to stomp backside 540s and our latest World Champ, Alex "Chumpy" Pullin tells us about life at the top of the pops. As well as loads more to read.
And being a new issue that also means we have new giveaways as well. Be sure to grab your copy in newsagents from Wednesday June 15th.

Inside
In a shake up to normal proceedings we’ve dropped our annual Travel Issue first this year and dubbed it The Travel Bible as we’ve expanded the issue to include a comprehensive travel guide complete with riding destinations in both Australia and New Zealand as well as Japan and Canada.

We also take you on a journey to the uncharted territory of the Czech Republic. Sean Radich rounds up Victorian riders Jason Currie and Kieran McLaughlin and teams them up with young upstart Dane Tiene as they explore the hidden mystique and beauty of Prague and it’s surrounding resorts. Corrupt cops, caged midgets, seedy sex clubs and political exiles, the former Eastern bloc really offers a trip like no other. Check out the video below put together by Jeremy Richardson from OlliePop Films to view some of the action from the trip.

New Zealand’s clubfields play host to the Billabong team as Dan Himbrechts gets to work shooting some of the country’s biggest snowboarding stars in that of Robbie Walker, Clint Allan and the likes of Ben Fawcett and Jamie Anderson as well. They narrowly escape avalanches and flee with all fingers intact from the notorious nutcracker lift systems, with more than a story to tell.

In this issue you can also read all about our cover team's journey through the heart of Hokkaido with Andrew Roth as they visit a staggering six resorts in a nine-day period. Plenty of hiking and hard work pays off with some pretty incredible imagery as the souvenir.

In our comprehensive 32 page Travel Guide we tell you everything you need to know to plan a holiday to Japan, Canada, New Zealand or anyone of our fabulous Australian resorts. We also provide some handy travel tips, some life saving advice and a general point in the right direction.

You won’t get very far on your travels without some luggage to carry your belongings. We also showcase what’s new and fresh in luggage this season.

Plus...
